Overcoming Evil
Our heavenly Father warns us of some very serious threats. This life is a warfare, and the dangers we face are severe. So John devotes a considerable portion of his book to showing us how to overcome the evil one and withstand his attacks. In this study we learn the foundational truth of how victory or defeat is determined by what we love and do not love. John also teaches us about the resources we have for the battle while pointing out the threats. The stakes are high, and understanding this extremely important portion of God's Word can mean the difference between thrilling victory and disastrous defeat.
