Divorce and Remarriage
No one stands at the altar making vows intending to eventually get a divorce, and yet so many marriages end in divorce. And when they do there is never any shortage of pain, sorrow, anger, fear, or despair. Never is there a greater need for guidance from God than in the midst of a divorce or in the aftermath of divorce. This study examines the Old Testament background, the words of Jesus on the subject, and the instruction from 1 Corinthians 7, addressing questions about when divorce is permitted, when remarriage is permitted, and what God desires of His people in all the various circumstances of divorce and remarriage.
