Worshipping Church, The
The highest and holiest purpose of the Church is worship, and the pinnacle of worship is the corporate praise gathering. But sadly, corporate praise in many churches is plagued with “worship wars,” as the saints fight one another over the best ways to worship our Lord. Which methods are best? Traditional or contemporary? A loud, energetic, upbeat celebration or quiet, reverent awe? Should we have drums? Electric guitar? An organ?
The Bible does not speak directly about these questions, however there are principles in the New Testament that guide us in answering them. This study takes a careful look at the passages in the Epistles and the book of Revelation that instruct about the purposes of corporate singing and praise, and what the goals of our worship should be.
