Righteousness and Sinners
“Judge not, lest you be judged.” Some of Jesus’ most famous words, but often misunderstood. In the same context Jesus also warned us not to give holy things to dogs and pigs, and to beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing. We are required to make judgments about whether people are pigs, dogs, and wolves, yet there is a kind of judging that is forbidden. How do we know when we’ve crossed the line? This brief study explores which kinds of judging are sinful, and which kinds are righteous and how to know the difference.
