Suffering, Tests, and Temptation

A great number of problems in the Christian life are caused by our responses to suffering. Anger, depression, anxiety, fear, worry – even "rewarding" ourselves with some sinful indulgence. We know we should have a godly response is to suffering, and yet old patterns of just seem to continue. James 1:1-18 has long been regarded as one of the most precious jewels of the Scriptures. In this passage, we learn that the key to having the right response to suffering is proper interpretation of suffering. James teaches us the accurate interpretation of trials, which result in true joy in suffering rather than anxiety or anger.
