Jesus’ Warnings

Jesus closed the Sermon on the Mount with a series of striking warnings – the shocking statement that only a few will enter life, the sober warning about wolves in sheep’s clothing, the tragic picture of people on Judgment Day surprised at their condemnation after ministering in Jesus’ name, and the sickening final words of the sermon describing the entire superstructure of the lives of all who fail to put His words into practice collapsing with a “great crash.” These warnings place every man and woman at the most important crossroads of their existence. The sovereign Christ forces us to choose – enter through the narrow gate or perish.
